"I returned to Uganda from Nigeria after the funeral service of my late mother-in-law. I found the taxi driver who dropped me off when I left Uganda. After the usual greetings, I asked him jokingly, How is Kampala? I hope you looked after Kampala very well? Then he told me that Kampala was ok except that since I travelled it had not rained and yet we are in our rainy season. I responded jokingly “Do not worry about the rain, I am back!” I had no idea that God would take notice of such a joke. When we arrived at Kampala city (about 1 hour from the airport), it had rained! The taxi driver was shocked that God responded to me. He declared that I must be a true man of God. He pleaded that I should bless him which I gladly did after he dropped me at the apartment. Indeed, it rained at night. The following day, it rained throughout the day. Actually, since my arrival in Kampala on 28th May, it has rained every day till today (6th June). To me, the joke was not good since I was putting myself in a position as if I had the power to cause rain to fall. Far from it. I do not have such powers. I should have said, “I pray God to give us rain today.” In spite of my mistake, God forgave me and blessed us with rain. God is always looking at the heart: What is the intention in your heart when you say or do something? The fact is that God knows that I am His son and His blessings follow me everywhere I go. I have experienced them several times. From henceforth, I will be careful with my jokes."
